While they're not necessarily two great tastes one might assume taste great together, Afghan Whigs and The Police have come together in the most unexpected of ways: the former covering the latter's classic "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" for glossy culture mag of note Entertainment Weekly.
Greg Dulli and the Whigs are known both for covering great tunes you wouldn't expect them to, and for making them their own, and that's certainly the case here. Darkly hued and imbued with what might be described as a "stalker vibe," this cover is slowed down, subtly discordant and soulfully anguished — in other words, vintage Afghan Whigs.
