Thank god it's Friday! Here a breakdown of noteworthy live music happening tonight, if you can overcome the exhaustion that usually seeps in once you kick off your shoes and ease back on the couch for an end-of-week beer....Diealps! with Civil Brute, King Of Spain Baroque pop group Diealps! is led by Austria-born Cornelia (“Connie”) Calcaterra, and has been a solid staple of Central Florida's indie rock music scene since forming in 2012. With unconventional vocals layered upon upbeat, melodic instrumentals, they’re a charming little waltz with an occasional explosion of optimistic energy. Alongside Calcaterra’s husband Frank (guitar, vocals), Doug Nelson (bass), Ashley Hamory (drums) and Kristen Andre (keys), the group creates a lush, eclectic, well-textured sound that makes for lighthearted listening. Their first self-titled EP is scheduled for release later this year via New Granada Records. Dave Koz & Friends Summer Horns Tour The 10th studio outing from the smooth sax man, 2013’s Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns, comprises a selection of covers from the ‘60s and ‘70s as re-imagined by Koz and three other contemporary jazz saxophonists who all join him on this tour: Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright and Richard Elliot. 8 p.m., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, $35-$65. —LP
Basement Sessions 5 with Cold Fusion feat. Eyeznpowa, Mr. Mes & Mic Deluxx, Queen Of Ex, Synergy In A Cup, Future Vintage, Nostalgia Amarilla, Sir Pap, A Flo The curated music series hosted by THX Management returns after more than a year off with a fresh showcase of local music makers practicing distinctive styles of hip hop and turntablism, soul, electro-funk, jazz and other related genres. This fifth installment hits on bomba – dance-and-drums-fueled Puerto Rican folk music – and also features a set by Cold Fusion, the project of emcees Eyeznpowa and Mic Deluxx with DJ Mr. Mes (of Crate Brothers fame). 8 p.m., The Social, Ybor City. —Leilani Polk
St. Pete Pride 2014: 27/82 The Concert with Hunter Valentine, Mary Lambert, Connor Zwetsch Girl 2 Girl Productions stages its annual St. Pete Pride concert, and this year’s headliners are The Real L Word’s all-grrl alt rock quartet Hunter Valentine along with Mary Lambert, the soulful vocalist from Macklemore’s “Same Love” track (check out the full story right here along with the rest of the Pride live music scedule). Proceeds from the concert benefit the St Pete Pride Community Grants Program. 7 p.m. doors, State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $25. —LP
Helping to Heal: Carlitos “Chang Bang” Corcho with Mr. C, Jask Thaisoul, Muggles, Jason Kitchen & Lyndon A DJ-fueled fundraiser held on the Push rooftop that marks the return of Carlitos “Chang Bang” Corcho, who delivers his first public performance since suffering from a stroke 17 months ago. Among those who join him on this night: an international guest — techno, house and disco DJ Mr. C from The Shamen, The End Club and Superfreq — and Corcho’s BFF, Hyde Park Café’s Tuesday night resident, DJ Jask Thaisoul. Proceeds raised from raffles and a silent art auction benefit the charity of Corcho’s choice, in this case Doctor’s Without Borders. Admission is free but RSVPs required at the Facebook event page. Come Back Alice with Dropin Pickup Come Back Alice and Dropin Pickup team up for a show that guarantees to be a high energy affair and yet another (this time unofficial) extension of the reverberations made at this year’s Tropical Heatwave. Both feature fiddle players that threaten to saw their strings in half; Sarasotabased Come Back Alice rides behind the release of their eponymous debut of self-styled “Southern gypsy funk,” while Dropin Pickup — which is putting the finishing touches on their own debut, recently featured on WMNF’s Live Music Showcase — provide an appropriate complement with their rootsy trumpet-and-fiddled-driven sounds. 8 p.m., Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa, $10. —Andy Warrener
