Heatwave Redux with Good Graeff, Dropin Pickup, UNRB, Lions After Dark The community-funded radio station presents a bill featuring four distinctive, much-talked-about Bay area acts that played its Tropical Heatwave festival this past May. Sarasota-bred Good Graeff is led by sisters Brooke and Brittany Graeff, the former on dulcet lead vocals and guitar, the latter on cello and occasionally, ukulele, their sound bright and magnetic folk pop with indie rock drive. Dropin Pickup delivers on energetic brass-and-fiddle-fused roots rock, UNRB does ska-punk fusion as fueled by the showman-style vocals and the uke prowess of Noel Rochford, and Lions After Dark lays down meaty, soulful alt rock as piloted by the belting howls of frontwoman Maddie Pfeiffer. 7 p.m. doors, State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $10. –Leilani Polk

A Wilhelm Scream with Red City Radio, Wellwisher, A Gentleman Army, Hollow Tides
The “Wilhelm Scream” is a famed stock sound effect that was used in more than 200 films between 1951 and 2003. A Wilhelm Scream is an 18-year-old melodic hardcore outfit from Massachusetts that doesn’t so much scream as roar in ragged bursts of angst as delivered by co-vocalists Nuno Pereira and Trevor Reilly (the latter also on guitar). This tour backs 2013 sixth full-length Partycrasher, issued via Gainesville’s own No Idea Records. 7 p.m. doors, Orpheum, Ybor City, $13-$15. LP

Gravel Kings with Fistful, Alexander Charos Upbeat indie folk quartet Gravel Kings have planted roots in Southern Florida soil since their humble musical beginnings in 2012. Zachary Jones (vocals, guitar), Douglas French (percussion), Joey Johnson (banjo, dobro) and James Dickens (bass) craft a melodic, high-spirited string-driven tribute to traditional folk and bluegrass music, and are set to issue their first full-length this summer on Decades Records. For fans of Avett Brothers. 8 p.m., New World Brewery, Ybor City, $TBD. –Jackie Braje
