A few noteworthy happenings this Sun., July 5.

Crate Digger Book Signing & Show with Nude Tayne, Rahim Samad Tampa punk rock scene vet Bob Suren – who is currently living in Austin – hits town to promote his new memoir, Crate Digger: An Obsession with Punk Records. “It’s about friendship and love and loss and failures … It’s not just a bunch of stories about going to see the Ramones,” he told CL late last year. He’ll be reading passages from the book, then leading a Q&A, then hawking and signing copies. Afterwards, noise-experimental rockers Nude Tayne and soulful indie rapper Rahim Samad perform. 8 p.m., Mojo Books & Music, Tampa, free admission.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong with Displace Maryland-brewed Pigeons Playing Ping Pong ply funk-rooted tunes with jazz and psychedelic overtones, jamming wah-wah guitar and ass-shaking beats in songs like “F.U.” (the refrain, “If you want my soul, you best walk away / ‘cause all I want to do is, F. U. … N.K.”) and the faster jiving electro-expansive “Moonwalk.”8 p.m., Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin, free admission.
