Aceyalone, Action (Bionik Music)
Agnostic Front, The American Dream Died (Nuclear Blast)
The 11th LP from the crossover thrash outfit was produced by Madball singer Freddy Cricien and features guest appearances by Cricien, Toby Morse (H2O) and Lou Koller (Sick of It All), as well as a collab with Madball guitarist Matt Henderson on the song "A Wise Man."

Blues Traveler, Blow Up The Moon (Loud & Proud Records)
Doug Burr, Pale White Dove (Velvet Blue Music)
Burr is a singer-songwriter from Denton, Texas, who jumps between country, folk and pop but gets fast, hard and Southern gothic rootsy in his fourth full-length, with songs like “I See Satan Fall Like Lightning" and lead-off track "White Night - Black Light"; listen below.
Delta Rae, After It All (Warner Bros.)
Doldrums, The Air Conditioned Nightmare (Sub Pop)
Drug Cabin, Wiggle Room (401K Music)
Onetime Ambulance LTD frontman Marcus Congleton and former Pretty Girls Make Graves guitarist Nathan Thelen make up Drug Cabin, and have already released a follow-up to February debut Yard Work. "Handsome" is a languid tune with falsetto vocals and trippy watery guitar. Quite lovely. Take a listen below.
DTCV, Uptime! (Unsatisfied Records)
I just like the title of this song —"Miley Cyrus Wins The Race"— so here's a bit of info about this garage/power pop duo: likened to Sonic Youth and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, they are based in Southern California, tthough frontwoman Guylaine Vivarat is French, and she writes, sings and plays guitar, bass and keyboards on the majority of the band's songs, while co-collaborator James Greer plays (and shreds) guitar ; in the track below, she offers up cooing '60s girl-group vocals.
East India Youth, Culture Of Volume (XL Recordings)
Folk Family Revival, Water Walker (Rock Ridge Music)
Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways (RCA)
The DVD/Blu-Ray set encompassing all eight episodes of the critically acclaimed HBO doc series directed by Dave Grohl that tracks the history of music in several of America's biggest cities, with Foo recording a song in each one; includes 10 extended interviews and more than 150 minutes of never-before-seen footag.
John Brown's Body, Kings And Queens In Dub (Easy Star)
Kuroma, Kuromarama (Votiv Music)
A new indie psych-pop group led by a former member of the Whigs and the live guitarist for MGMT (ZOMG you are freaking out right now!!), singer-songwriter Hank Sullivant. The sounds range from '70s AM warm and warped (Ween-esque) grooving "Love Is on the Way," to the cooing bop and bounce of "Simon's in the Jungle," to the fast pumping post-punk-vibing "20+ Centuries." Video for the last below; full album stream at Nerdist.
Pokey LaFarge, Something In The Water (Rounder)
Lapalux, Lustmore (Brainfeeder)
Lord Huron, Strange Trails (IAMSOUND)
Marriages, Salome (Sargent House)
Matt & Kim, New Glow (Harvest Records)

Priory, Need To Know (Warner Bros.)
Royal Thunder, Crooked Doors (Relapse)
Shlohmo, Dark Red (True Panther/WeDidIt)
Toro y Moi, What For? (Carpark)
Ummm. Yeah. It's another record from the project helmed by producer/songwriter Chazwick Bradley Bundick. The fourth, if you're not counting that LP he issued as 'Les Sins.' You know you've been all hot and sweaty waiting to hear this one. Check this video for "Empty Nesters" below. There's something very Matthew Sweet about the vocal quality of this number. I dig it.
Trickfinger, Trickfinger (Acid Test)
Guitarist John Frusciante continues his electronic experiments under his Trickfinger guise, which finds him creating acid house sonicscapes using classic hardware and within the traditional template. According to his Soundcloud, "Frusciante's desire to cede control to machines has paradoxically allowed him to present a singular take on elemental dance music, a brilliant and unexpected entry into Acid Test's growing canon of modern, 303-focused dance music." It's all bleeps to me...
Steve Vai, Stillness In Motion - Vai Live in L.A. (Sony/Legacy)
The Very Best, Makes A King (Moshi Moshi)
Waxahatchee, Ivy Tripp (Merge)
Weed, Running Back (Lefse)
White Prism, Open Heart Job (self-release)
Brian Wilson, No Pier Pressure (Universal)
Young Fathers, White Men Are Black Men Too (Big Dada)
I love the title of this latest album from the UK's fine Mercury Prize-winning band experimental hip hop trio —‘G’ Hastings, Alloysious Massaquoi and Kayus Bankole. RIYL: TV on the Radio. Latest single “Shame" below.
