A few interesting shows in St. Petersburg on this Hump Day of March 11. The usual breakdown below.

Hundred Waters with Mitski Remember when CL implored you to go see up-and-coming electro soundscape experimenters Hundred Waters at Rock The Park about three years ago? Seems like the rest of the country (and world) has finally caught on. The Gainesville-based outfit has been featured by the BBC and NPR, adored by Pitchfork, and even tapped for a recent Coca-Cola commercial that first aired during the high-profile Super Bowl slot. “Show Me Love” might be the most delicately exquisite a capella track of the 21st Century, so not too sure how we feel about its corporate appropriation … but at least the band used the placement to help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. This date supports sophomore album The Moon Rang Like a Bell, which dropped via Skrillex’s OWSLA label last year. (State Theatre, St. Petersburg) –Ray Roa & Leilani Polk

The Sing-Off Live Tour The fifth season of NBC’s a cappella music competition, The Sing-Off, was aired as a two-hour, single-episode holiday special in December. The show’s live tour features its champions, the all-male dozen-strong Vanderbilt University-spawned Melodores, who performed impressive all-vocal versions of Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets” and Hozier’s “Take Me to Church”; the latter earned their win. Runners-up The Exchange also perform, as do fan favorites Street Corner Symphony (winners of Season 2) and Orlando-spawned VoicePlay (from Season 4). Local a cappella groups open. (Mahaffey Theater, St. Petersburg)
