The Treasure Fleet, The Sun Machine Soundtrack (Recess Records)
Chicago's Treasure Fleet expanded their line-up with a guitarist to produce this '70s vintage progressive soundtrack for a stylized rock n' roll space flick. The idea for the conceptual album narrative was inspired by old Twilight Zone episodes, the songs jumping from psychedelia to space travel to mind control and was written concurrently with a short film. The album/soundtrack and film altogether cost less than $3,000 to produce. It premiered September 27 at the Raindance film festival in London. Set opener "The View from Mt. Olympus" below.
