It’s not everyday you get to see an unreleased music video featuring two of the biggest names in hip-hop, but thanks to some Internet sleuthing, we can all witness the visual glory of “Too Many Rappers” starring the Beastie Boys and Nas.
Directed by Roman Coppola, the almost long-lost video accompanies the track from the Beastie Boys’ last album, 2011’s Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. It features all three members — Ad-rock, Mike D and the late MCA — strolling through a grocery store and other public areas having, what looks like, a hell of a time with their buddy Nas.
According to Pitchfork, the video was discovered on the website of video editor Neal Usatin. A member of the beastieboys.com message board found a credit for the unreleased video on Uastin’s resume and, with a little more digging, unearthed the gem you see below. It was removed from YouTube for a short time, but now it’s back up on the official Beastie Boys channel.
