...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, IX (Superball)

Antony and the Johnsons, Turning (Secretly Canadian)
The documentary film Turning documented Antony and the Johnsons' fall 2006 European tour, which found the outfit performing alongside 13 women. This date marks the release of both the DVD and an album that includes Antony and the Johnsons' full November 2006 live set at the Barbican in London. The LP also comprises two studio recordings that were released on a picture disc in 2004, "Whose Are These" and "Tears Tears Tears."
Celestial Shore, Enter Ghost (Hometapes)
Marianne Faithfull, Give My Love To London (Easy Sound/Universal)
The 20th studio album from the British alt rock songstress finally sees its U.S. release. The album features collabs with Nick Cave, Steve Earle, Leonard Cohen, Roger Waters and others.

NOVEMBER 11
The Birthday Massacre, Superstition (Metropolis)
Big K.R.I.T., Cadillactica (Cinematic/Def Jam)
One of my favorite Southern rappers, Mississippi's soulful Big K.R.I.T. presents a new effort and full-length follow up to last year's stellar King Remembered In Time. DJ Dahi, Terrace Martin Alex da Kid and Raphael Saadiq are among the produvers, the latter also appearing as a guest on the track "Soul Food"; other guests include E-40, Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco. So far, what I've heard is solid. Dramatic first single "Mt. Olympus"has more than 9 million views already. Check out "Soul Food" below.
Class of '86, Future on Fire (Paper + Plastick Records)
Cool Ghouls, A Swirling Fire Burning Through The Rye (Empty Cellar Records)
Cult of Youth, Final Days (Sacred Bones)
Emma Donovan & The PutBacks, Dawn (Hope Street Records)
It's a soul revival record with Afro-beat, psychedelic, roots and funk flavors from an Australian songstress with Aboriginal roots. Very tasty stuff. Take a listen to "Daddy" below.
Dream Police, Hypnotized (Sacred Bones)
Future Punx, Inspired EP (Dull Tools)
There is something very Blondie/disco about the first single off the debut recording from Brooklyn post-wave outfit Future Punx. Check "Forgive the Doubt" below.
Hookworms, The Hum (Weird World/Domino)
The Jazz June, After The Earthquake (Topshelf Records)
KONTRUST, Explositive (Napalm Records)
The New Basement Tapes, Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes (Electromagnetic Recordings/Harvest Records)
T Bone Burnett produced this album featuring a collective of musicians — Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons) — who've created a series of tracks based on a set of recently-discovered lyrics handwritten by Bob Dylan in 1967 during the period that generated the recording of his original Basement Tapes. The result was dozens of new songs and recordings; 20 are included on this release. Check out the Dylan-Mumford track, "When I Get My Eyes on You" below and color yourself intrigued, too.
Low Fat Getting High, Low Fat Getting High (Money Fire Records)
The debut from a Brooklyn trio calling on the sounds of grunge, punk and noise-rock; Low Fat Getting High was recently awarded the title of "Best Rock Band" in the Village Voice's Best of NYC issue. No small feat considering the number of bands coming out of that city. Check out ""Don't Believe You Anymore" below.
Mark McGuire, Noctilucence EP (Dead Oceans)
Moonlight Towers, Heartbeat Overdrive (Chicken Ranch)
Nots, We Are Nots (Castle Face)
Parkay Quarts, Content Nausea EP (What's Your Rupture)
The band also known as Parquet Courts drops another record, this one a 12-track EP. The hard-buzzing indie rock outfit stops in town on January 31. More info and album stream here.
Pink Floyd, The Endless River (Columbia)
The final album from the psych rock behemoths doesn't actually feature all the remaining members; rather, it's the leftover fruits from the 1993 studio jam session between David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright that was eventually honed down and fleshed out with an extended lineup (Guy Pratt on bass, Jon Carin on keyboards and Gary Wallis on percussion) to become The Division Bell. Gilmour and Mason returned to the studio this year, using unreleased keyboard performances by the late Wright from the session as a launchpoint. Gilmour has described the record as follows: "We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album. Over the last year we've added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire."
Queen, Queen Forever (Hollywood Records)
A best-of comp featuring three previously unreleased tracks featuring late singer Freddie Mercury: the collab from Queen and Michael Jackson, “There Must Be More to Life Than This,” a previously unfinished Mercury-Queen track “Let Me In Your Heart Again” (recorded during The Works sessions, and a new stripped-down ballad version of Mercury’s first solo hit and Giorgio Moroder collaboration, “Love Kills.” The remainder of the LP includes other Queen classics and new takes on well-known numbers paired with band recordings Brian May describes as “things that we have collected together that are representative of our growth rather than the big hits"; available as a 20-track single CD and an extended 36-track, two-CD set.
Damien Rice, My Favourite Faded Fantasy (Warner Bros.)
