Though he had some successes with releases on Skrillex’s OWLSLA label and his Big Beat Records single “Language,” and produced official remixes for Avicii and Deadmau5, Porter Robinson really gained some traction in the EDM scene after collabing with Mat Zo on 2012’s synth-fizzing progressive house single “Easy.” He took a synth-pop turn in full-length Astralwerks debut, Worlds, which ranges from the hazy, ambient dreamy washes of “Sea of Voices” to the glitchy whirring vocal-spliced “Flicker.” On this tour, he abandons his traditional DJ booth post to manage multi-tracks and controllers, trigger samples and play midi keys.
