Peter Frampton Classic rock’s most eminent talkbox user took an unexpected turn with his 2014 album, Hummingbird in a Box, a collection of seven original guitar instrumentals inspired by the Cincinnati Ballet and used in two of the troupe’s spring productions. This date will find him doing his usual guitar-slinging through Frampton Comes Alive! staples like “Baby I Love Your Way,”“Show Me the Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do” amid various other selections from his 15-album catalog. We're Doing It All for LeRoi — A Tribute Show St. Pete drummer LeRoi DuVal (born Lee Timothy Duval) was a tireless supporter of St. Pete’s music and arts scenes, likely best known for his stint in anarchic post-punk duo Arcade Inferno. He worked at downtown St. Pete salon Star Booty, and could be counted on to show up and say something hilarious at any event worth attending. This writer remembers him as warm, talented, provocative and funny. DuVal passed away in August and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the musicians who were his peers and have banded together to pay tribute to him with a night of music. The Semis, Car Bomb Driver, Aaron Kyle Nelson, Meatwound, Broken Things, Holiday, Lonly Monster, Adam Turkel (of Treasure Island) and STOIC perform at two venues over the course of this Friday-night memorial. Donations at the door go to a musical charity in DuVal’s name. More info here. (Octave and Emerald Bar, St. Petersburg) –Scott Harrell
