Today we get our answer — you're just going to have to wait until September to get all the nitty gritty.
Official dates for Don't Stop St. Pete aren't available yet, but the downtown St. Pete-based party will announce its lineup on September 12 when they take over the Skatepark Of Tampa (SPoT) for a performance from California scuzz-rock prince Ty Segall. The show —first announced in June— was set to take place at Tampa's Epic Problem, but ticket sales have been brisk leading promoters to move it to the larger, adjacent quarters.
Epic Problem won't be losing a show either, since Don't Stop has booked an extra five bands —Plastic Pinks and Gun Hoes from Miami, Gainesville's Cretin Girls, plus the bay area's own Sonic Graffiti and Orange Forest — to play a pre-show from 3-8 p.m.. Admission to the pre-show is $5. Anyone with a ticket to the Ty Segall show gets into the pre-show for free.
More information on the show — which also features Jensen Serf Company and Wand opening for Segall — is available here. SPoT is located at 4215 E. Columbus Dr. in Tampa. Tickets are priced at $13-$15 and available at Daddy Kool Records (666 Central Ave., St. Petersburg) or Mojo Books & Records (2540 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa).
Online sales are happing at daddykooltickets.com.
