St. Pete writer, professor and noted '80s-music addict Gina Vivinetto (DISCLOSURE: She's written for CL before) has announced via her Facebook page that she's putting together a night of New Wave coverage at St. Pete venue the Palladium Theater on Sunday, October 26.
According to Vivinetto's post, this will be an early show featuring six local bands —The Ditchflowers, Skully, Rebekah Pulley & The Reluctant Prophets, Pretty Voices, Jeremy Gloff and Y Los Dos Pistoles— paying live 'n' loud tribute to beloved nostalgiacts like The Smiths, The Psychedelic Furs, Madonna, Berlin, Missing Persons, Thompson Twins, Squeeze, Split Enz (yay!) "and more."
More details as they develop, but it looks like '80s fans Bay-wide can look forward to a great evening of music from some of the area's most capable and entertaining bands as Halloween rolls around.
