An eclectic Friday with mostly local music bookending a superstar memorial and the annual Vans Warped Tour stop.

6 Volt Rodeo, Sara Rose Band, The Johnny Zoom Hi-Fi Show If Spade Cooley were to rise from the grave and assemble a five-piece flannel-clad Western swing band, I imagine it would sound a lot like 6 Volt Rodeo. The Palm Harbor natives (Bear Cannon, Josh Paul, Mike Daley and Richy Scally) are a dance-inducing bunch with a generous side of jazz and rockabilly on their plate. Sara Rose Band is a female-fronted Western swing quintet from Tampa with the ghost of Patsy Cline grooving around their upbeat tunes. Also performing is the Johnny Zoom Hi-Fi Show, a one-man guitar act reviving the surf-and-space-age sounds of the 1950s. 9 p.m., New World Brewery, Ybor City.—Jackie Braje

Damon Fowler Group with Darryl Hance Back in 2008, we named Damon Fowler “Best guitarist... and Slide Guitarist... and Lap Steel Player... and Dobro Player” in our annual Best of the Bay awards. That said, the Brandon-born Fowler has definitely managed to seduce Tampa folks into fandom with his fiery soul-blues. He and his group support a sixth studio album, Easy Livin’, and are accompanied by fellow bluesy singer-songwriter Darryl Hance. He draws out hints of psychedelic rock in his sophomore album Land Of Trembling Earth, its lyrics gliding along about subjects of spiritual marginalization, balance and woodland critters. 8 p.m., Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa. —JB

Dan Toler Memorial Concert & Auction Underappreciated axe slinger Dan Toler made his name playing with Dickey Betts & Great Southern and the Allman Brothers, and he managed to touch lives and influence some pretty key musicians before he passed away at 64 last year. This memorial concert benefits his widow with an auction of his gear and concert by his friends in the American Vinyl All Star Band, which includes Jeffery “Skunk” Baxter (Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan), Barry Goudreau and Fran Sheehan (both formerly of Boston), Leroy “LSR” Romans (The Wailers), Robert “Mousey” Thomson (James Brown) and Danny Beissel (Fosterchild). The remaining members of Toler Tucci Project (Steven and Mike Tucci, Don Richards, Chazz Trippy, Al Owen and Harry DeBusk) are also due to perform. 7 p.m., Jannus Live, St. Petersburg. —Leilani Polk

Vans Warped Tour with Bowling For Soup, Less than Jake, Anberlin, Saves the Day, Falling In Reverse, Mayday Parade, Of Mice & Men, Teenage Bottlerocket, Yellowcard & many more Another year, another entry in the Vans Warped Tour canon, and this marks its 20th anniversary. This could be the last year the festival looks the way it does now, however; Warped just signed a three-year contract with Beatport (the iTunes-like online store for EDM music) to include a stage dedicated solely to various electronic-music purveyors. In the meantime, St. Pete’s iteration enlists the likes of Gainesville ska rockers Less than Jake (interview at cltampa.com/music), Billboard Top 40 charters Yellowcard, and trap producer NiT GriT to celebrate its 20th year of sweaty, alternative-styled debauchery. 11 a.m., Vinoy Park, St. Petersburg. –Cody Smith
