Sam Smith just checked Bonnaroo off his list of things to do. He's now beginning an upcoming world tour that is coming nowhere near Florida, which is a god damn dirty shame because the 22-year-old soul singing Brit is just about the best thing on pop radio today.
Last night he and over a dozen of his closest friends took their turn on the Letterman farewell tour to perform Smith's stunning smash single "Stay With Me," and while Dave provided some pre-performance comic relief ("His debut album is entitled In The Lonely Hour," quipped Letterman, "How many of us have been there? I'm in the lonely hour every night."), what followed was three-and-a-half minutes of heartfelt, professional, confessional crooning that could wet tear ducts (as well as other parts of your body) in an instant (via CoS).
Have a look at the video below, and plot your road trip to see Smith at one of his 16 North American tour dates by clicking here. If you need something more uptempo from the boy, then watch him perform "Money On My Mind"here. Smith's debut LP can be had here.
