Beyonce's surfbort makes landfall on June 26 when she and husband Jay-Z kick off a 16-date summer stadium tour in South Florida. The jaunt kicks off down here, but Tampa fans won't be doing any graining or swerving locally since the "On The Run" tour's only Sunshine State stop is at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, which is just under 300 miles and four hours of driving away, if you're keeping score. The couple was rumoured to be planning a 20-stop joint tour, but this morning's announcement revealed a slightly abridged, albeit ambitious schedule that includes stops at Citizen's Bank Park (Philadelphia), Metlife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey), Soldier Field (Chicago), and even the 92,000-plus capacity Rose Bowl (Pasadena, California).
Tickets go from $39.50-$275 before fees. On sale info for the Miami date is a little complicated, but here it goes:
The general public can buy tickets at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday, May 2. A special pre-sale via Ticketmaster/Live Nation starts at 10 a.m. EDT Thursday, May 1, and there's even a Facebook pre-sale that kicks off at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Beyonce Fan Club members and Chase Cardmembers get the very first crack at tickets tomorrow at 10 a.m. EDT.
If you're confused, then find light in the fact that Billboard is reporting that $1 from every ticket sale will be donated to Jay-Z's Shawn Carter Foundation, which provides scholarships to students in need. You'll also be donating a $15-$40 service charge to Ticketmaster/Live Nation just in case you wanted to know.
This is going to be the blockbuster tour of the summer (Billboard Boxscore says Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake's 2013 joint tour grossed an average of $5 million per show).
