Major Lazer just dropped this gem of minimalism, which features none other than hip hop royalty and honorary Daft Punk-ee himself, Pharrell Williams. Expect it on the former's forthcoming Apocalypse Soon EP , out February 25 via Mad Decent.
As anyone who's listened to Major Lazer for more than 30 seconds will probably expect, the track is an exercise in boundary-pushing reggae-ton-y absurdness sure to be remixed a bajillion times by the end of this sentence. Powered by little more than a few hollowed-out drum clicks and thud-y bass hits, the beat is just a garnish for Pharrell's tongue-twisting rhymes.
With bars like "Bangin on that ass like orangutan / Transform to a grown man / And transform again," you gotta wonder if the "inspiration" for this came from the inside of one aforementioned can. Listen after the jump and make your call.
