Major Lazer just dropped this gem of minimalism, which features none other than hip hop royalty and honorary Daft Punk-ee himself, Pharrell Williams. Expect it on their forthcoming EP Apocalypse Soon, out February 25.
As anyone who's listened to Major Lazer for more than 30 seconds will probably expect, the track is an exercise in boundary-pushing reggae-ton-y absurdness sure to be remixed a bajillion times by the end of this sentence. Powered by little more than a few hollowed-out drum clicks and thud-y bass hits, the beat is just a garnish for Pharrell's tongue-twisting rhymes.
With bars like "Bangin on that ass like orangutan / Transform to a grown man / And transform again," you gotta wonder if the "inspiration" for this came from the inside of one aforementioned can. Listen after the jump and make your call.
