“Those cats are taking over” used to mean something a little different until about a week ago when Run the Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike) dropped their latest release, a cat-themed remix album perfectly titled Meow The Jewels.A track-for-track interpretation of their recent sophomore LP, Run the Jewels 2, Meow the Jewels features remixes from the likes of Zola Jesus, Geoff Barrow, The Alchemist and Just Blaze — who produced the sounds to the masterpiece you see below.
Featuring regular-sized cats taking over a mini New York City, the video for "Oh My Darling (Don’t Meow)" is a hilariously terrible affair filled with toy cop cars, cat nip trucks and general feline destruction.
