Symphonic Distribution – a Wesley Chapel-based company that distributes music from indie labels and artists to digital outlets like iTunes, Rhapsody, Spotify and eMusic – presents a new community-minded fest geared at showcasing the Bay area’s eclectic array of offerings.

Vibes of the Bay is a single-day multi-dimensional fest with beer (3 Daughters Brewing hosts), chow and bevvies (by Commune + Co., Maggie on the Move, St. Pete Taco Lady and Tropiccool), some pop-up shops (Microgroove, Bodhi Basics, Dark Cycle Clothing and Dollface included), and most importantly, a full slate of live music featuring several noteworthy local talents.

In fact, pretty much every sound on this bill proves a highlight: the two-piece rock n’ groove explosion of Oxford Noland (guitarist/vocalist Shua Harrell and drummer/keyboardist Aaron Buckingham); the Dark Wave alternative and high octane seethe of Zulu Wave; Archaic Interest’s hazy ambling surf-garage and droning psychedelia; Luxury Mane’s snotty, fuzzy, psych-rock swagger; the lushly pretty waltz-pop sway of DieAlps!; and RedFeather’s pulsing, heady-expansive folk rock. Heart-on-sleeve Americana courtesy of singer-songwriter Kristopher James while Groves primary JT Brown does his solo Southern-fried space folk and rock thang.

Details: Vibes of the Bay, Sun., Aug. 9, 2-9 p.m., 3 Daughters Brewing, 222 22nd St. S., St. Petersburg, free admission with RSVP at vibesofthebay.com. —Leilani Polk
