Friday, Friday, Friday... here's a look at some live music happening this July 3.

Yellow Dubmarine with Soul Purpose Tribute shows at the Skipperdome two nights in a row? Yup. Yellow Dubmarine, as the name implies, infuses a healthy dose of dub into their Beatles re-imaginings, not to mention swaying roots reggae, bumpin’ funk and sax-and-trombone-blown rocksteady. Sets by the DC area septet encompass later-era material, including “Something,”“Dig a Pony,”“Oh, Darling,”“Come Together” and even a NOLA-vibing version of “Octopus’ Garden.” (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa)

Caked Up The bass music duo composed of Oscar Wylde and Vegas Banger has been stirring up controversy all over the place, for allegedly beating up fellow producer Crizzly, for the arrest of Vegas Banger due to a supposed domestic dispute, for purportedly ripping off other EDM artists’ remixes (not sure how you can even do that)… Electro music blog YourEDM is among the loudest protesters of Caked Up’s work habits, citing new single “Jon Snow” as their latest filch job. Not that Caked Up seems concerned. In fact, they’ve been laughing with each trip to the bank and calling out their “haters” along the way. (Amphitheatre, Ybor City)

Vans Warped Tour The start of summer brings the looming threat of Warped Tour. Normally it crashes into town towards the end of July, but the schedule has shifted for its 21st edition. This year, we’re getting it right before Independence Day and the wide-spanning range of alternative sounds include: alt rock (Motion City Soundtrack, Never Shout Never, Pierce the Veil), punk (H2O, PUP, The Kenneths), pop (Bebe Rexha, Family Force 5), pop-punk (Four Year Strong, Simple Plan), hardcore (blessthefall, Memphis May Fire), metalcore (August Burns Red, Attila), emo (Moose Blood, Silverstein), acoustic (This Wild Life, Buttons), folk (Onward, Etc., Brian Marquis) and even a little hip hop (Kosha Dillz, Mod Sun, MC Lars), electronic music (Black Boots, Le Castle Vania) spoken word (Jake Ducey, Trey the Ruler), and general weirdness (Drama Club). (Vinoy Waterfront Park, St. Pete)

Hot Dog Party 9: Wolf-Face, Great Peacock, Hotbox, Brother Cephus, Rising Down The annual meatstick-fueled party looks to be a lot of fun this year (the subtitle: “In Hot Water, Don’t Grill Me Dog”). Acts range from Teen Wolf rockers Wolf-Face to the emotive prog-hued alt rock of Rising Down to the siblings-led indie folk-roots sounds of Brother Cephus, and the usual eight-minute dog-eating competition provides a mouth-stuffing highlight replete with its own Championship WWE-style belt. Read more about the event in Ray’s story HERE. (Crowbar, Ybor City)

Tripping The Mechanism with Servants Of The Mist, Tickle, Abortion Twins, Hellfrost Charleston, S.C.’s Tripping the Mechanism is a metal trio fronted by a guitarist dude and bassist chick (Legion and Paisley, how cute), who force out ragged, gagging grunts, barks and roars over crushing guitars in tracks like “12 Labors of Hercules,”“Voices Inside the Rotten Mind” and “Juggernaut,” with her cleaner sing-song monotone sporadically breaking up all the vocal ughness. (Brass Mug, Tampa)

Pabst Blue Ribbon Up the Ante Concert Series: Mosquito Teeth, Broseph Skalin, Tiefighterdown, Moral Decline, Die Rebel Scum You’ve spent the entire day on the couch, feeling tired and illish from your shennanys the night before, and you’ve been back and forth about dragging yourself out for round two. You newb! A three-day weekend is a marathon, not a race, and having a hangover is your first mistake. It’s Friday night! Drink some damn water, pull it together, and get your ass out. If you think you can handle a brutal sonic beating, stop by Fu and rock out with some area talent (four punk bands and a ska-fused ensemble) for a month-long concert series hosted by Pabst Blue Ribbon. Each show is $5, lots of rad acts are scheduled to perform in the coming Fridays (25 total including this first one), and for $15, you can nab a pass to get into all five (July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31). Presale passes at fubarbooking.bigcartel.com. (Fubar, St. Petersburg)

The Fixx The British New Wave rock group didn’t have many No. 1 singles in the U.S. during their ‘80s heyday; you likely recognize “One Thing Leads to Another,” which didn’t even top the charts but has withstood the test of time beyond the ones that did, “Saved by Zero,”“Secret Separation” and “Are We Ourselves?” among them. The Fixx has maintained a loyal following here, nonetheless and have 10 studio albums to their credit. The last was 2012’s Beautiful Friction. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater)
