What are you doing tonight? Lots happening as far as live music goes on this Sat., May 9, in addition to Big Guava. Check it out below.

Steel Panther with Like A Storm On first listen, it sounds sleazy ‘80s-era glam metal. A few listens later and maybe after a video view or two, you realize the musicians in LA-spawned Steel Panther aren’t taking themselves too seriously, pairing over-exaggerated stage personas and frippery (long teased locks/wigs, bandanas, animal-print spandex) with cheeky subject matter touching on sex (“Gloryhole,”“Gang Bang at the Old Folks Home”), misogyny (“Handicapped Slut”), drugs (“I Like Drugs”) and partying (“Party Like Tomorrow Is the End of the World”). (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg)

Five Eight with Talk Nice, Alexander & the Grapes While Five Eight isn’t from these here parts, the Athens, Ga., rock quartet established a loyal Florida fanbase amid blazing fuzzed-out trails through the Southeast and mining melodies from the grunge, and is arguably one of the most underrated (and under-known) bands to emerge from the ‘90s. New Granada hosts a very special show that finds Five Eight on tour behind the 20th anniversary release of 1994 classic Weirdo, remixed and remastered from the original tapes, pressed to vinyl for the first time, and according to megafan/manager Doug Rasmussen, “loaded with new energy, new passion, and a new sense of longing for what remains real (20-years later) about heartache, disaffection, emotional disconnectivity, suicidal tendencies, being hurt, and being a WEIRDO.” Expect a Weirdo-heavy setlist. (New World Brewery, Ybor City)

Atlas Road Crew This Charleston, S.C. quintet hits town behind a fresh debut LP of soulful Southern grooves and bluesy driving rock n’ roll, Halfway to Hopkins, partially recorded with noted producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, Trey Anastasio) in Atlanta. (Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin)

El Nacimiento De Tauro JUN with Infinite Third, Mountain Holler, OPHELIA, STOIC Celebrate the 30th birthday of folk fusion songstress Jun Bustamante aka JUN, who presents a night of artistic sights, and is joined in diverse sounds by some of her favorite local solo music makers and experimenters, from the haunting howling calls of Mountain Holler to the ambient guitar-driven rock of Infinite Third. (The Nine 10, St. Petersburg)

FibroFest2015 Music & Art to Raise Awareness Held in honor of International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day (which falls on May 12), this free concert draws attention to the chronic medical condition and offers support to the people suffering from it with a day of music spread over three stages by, among others, Yoshi Gish, Bryan James, Twisted, Darksavvant, Virginia Rose Band, The Masons, Fredrick Avila, Lee Pons and Aaron Loveless. (Screwie Louie’s Porpoise Pub, Seminole)

Shaun Hopper The local acoustic finger-style guitar whiz can fill a room with his relentlessly dedicated devotees, and the Capitol proves an ideal setting for his pristine sounds, full of complex clear-ringing arpeggios, muted harmonics, percussive reverberations, and compositions touching on folk, world, blues, classical and acoustic pop rock sounds. His second instrumental LP, The Wood & the Wire, was released last year. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater)

Mat Kearney with Judah & The Lion Pop singer-songwriter Mat Kearney lands in town behind the release of fifth full-length Just Kids, first single “Heartbeat” a buoyant, synth-bouncing, hand-clapped ode of fresh love. Openers Judah & The Lion, from Nashville, add dusty strings-fueled Americana and drawling three-part harmonies to the evening. (The Ritz Ybor, Ybor City)
