Kraftwerk just announced a 12-stop fall tour of North America that promises to hit “cities they haven’t played before.” Sadly, the Tampa Bay area won’t be on that list this time around. You should start saving, though, because the Germans’ electro three-dimensional spectacle will be stopping at Miami’s Olympia Theater — only 278 miles away — on September 29.
Ticket prices have not been announced yet, but they do go on sale Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m. EDT.
The new leg is an extension of a tour that started last year and saw the electro-krautrock pioneers take up residencies in Los Angeles, Oakland, and New York. The group — fronted by singer and founding member Ralf Hutter — has been pushing the envelope since they arrived back in the 70’s, but their music is still more futuristic and progressive than half of the “electro” out there.
Watch a short video below to get your juices flowing, and keep an eye out on those tickets here. Go for the complete mindfuck by visiting Kraftwerk.com.

If you’re more or less broke (and maybe don’t have a car), but still feel the need to see some forward-thinking music, then you might want to consider heading out to Seminole Heights next Thurs., May 14, when BOTB-winning vinyl shop Microgroove brings a free show to the neighborhood.
Boston, Mass. outfit Guerilla Toss will be at the helm of the action and have been all but officially canonized as Beantown’s kings of trippy, no-wave psych punk. A sold-out November 2014 cassette, Smack The Brick, ups the ante on what was already a freakfest on their January 2014 effort, Gay Disco, and while more conservative ears could be befuddled by an energetic live show that can only be described as weird, everything the band puts out is just accessible enough to bring even the most timid music-curious soul to the front for a dance party.
Permanent Makeup side projects Piss Ghost and Taxer warm up the show, where donations will be collected for touring bands. The music kicks off at 8 p.m. Microgroove is located at 2906 N. Florida Ave. Listen to "Smack The Brick" below. More information on the show is available on Facebook.
