In February, alt hop hop/R&B/psychedelic soul songstress and Electric Lady herself, Janelle Monáe, announced that her independent label Wondaland Art Society had signed a a "landmark joint venture partnership" with Epic Records to revamp it, re-brand it (it's now called Wondaland Records), and promote her and the artists on the label, including Jidenna, who delivers a verse of effected vocals in "Yoga," the latest single off Wondaland's upcoming compilation EP, The Eephus. (On a side note, in baseball, an "eephus" is a very low speed junk pitch.)

"Yoga" combines big ass-dropping bass with pulsing electro production and a light yet pervasive Caribbean/island vibe. In the video below — directed by the award-winning Dave Meyers and featuring an appearance by Selma actress Tessa Thompson — she abandons her traditional beehived 'fro for a long braided rope, flexes and stretches and bends into groove-bouncing dance moves, and leads a choreographed yoga routine in white spandex and gold glistening crown.

The Eephus drops May 6.
